We built WorkMade to make taxes and back-office work fade into the background. That means safeguarding your information, being clear about how we use it, and giving you meaningful choices.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information in connection with our websites, applications, voice agent, and related products and services (the “Services”). It also includes important tax-specific rules that apply when we act as an IRS authorized Electronic Return Originator (ERO), Transmitter, and Software Developer in the Modernized e-File (MeF) program.
If you use our Services on behalf of a business, you confirm that you have authority to provide information and accept this Policy on that business’s behalf.
This Policy applies to the Services described in our Terms of Service. Capitalized terms used but not defined here have the meanings in the Terms. If this Policy conflicts with the Terms, the Terms control for disputes; for privacy practices, this Policy controls.
Special rules under Internal Revenue Code §7216 (“§7216”) apply to “tax return information” we obtain to prepare or file your tax return. Where §7216 requires your consent for certain uses or disclosures, we will seek that consent in-app.
We currently support federal Form 1040 e-filing (including Schedule C and common schedules), federal and applicable state 1040-ES estimated payments, and LLC formation facilitation with a third-party Registered Agent. We do notcurrently support state income-tax return e-filing or sales-tax filings.
We collect information in the categories below. Some of this information may be “tax return information” under §7216 (e.g., W-2/1099 data), personal information under state privacy laws (e.g., CPRA), or sensitive personal information(e.g., SSN).
